Ayyam severs ties with Hanan El Shafiee who will continue to run the space in Zamalek.

From an email received today:

Ayyam Gallery, Cairo Update

After considering all our options, Ayyam Gallery has decided to pull out of the Egyptian market due to the current political and economical conditions in Egypt. Our ex-Egyptian partner Hanan El Shafiee will continue to run the space previously occupied by Ayyam Gallery in Cairo under a new brand and a new art program, that has no coordination or alliance with Ayyam Gallery, its artists, or its management.

We wish her the best and look forward to reentering the Egyptian market stronger at a more opportune time.

With all our respect to Egypt and its great people.
